Where does our food come from?

Our producers are based throughout Ceredigion and Powys in and around The UNESCO Dyfi Biosphere area.

Read more about some of our producers and growers and businesses below:

Ash & Elm Horticulture - Emma and Dave sell a range of fruit, veg, plants, preserves, juices, cordials and flowers from their 5 acre farm near Llanidloes. Emma is also a Tutor / trainer on the Pathways to Farming project.

Caws Teifi Cheese - Having started in 1982 Caws Teifi Cheese are now the longest established artisan cheesemaker in Wales.

Today the farm and family businesses are run by John and Patrice’s two sons; John-James and Robert, who are carrying on their parents’ vision for the farm and Caws Teifi Cheese.

Cwrtycadno farmhouse James, an apple breeder based in the Ystwyth Valley, supplies us with a changing selection of delicious and interesting named apple varieties — all picked fresh from the orchard.

His work blends the best qualities of commercial, heritage, and local apples, bringing together great flavour, resilience, and a bit of individuality in every variety. The result is apples you won’t usually find on supermarket shelves — grown with care and chosen for how they taste.

Dyfi Dairy - Sophia and Scott manage their small dairy in Wales with compassion and respect at the heart of its practice, keeping young with mums, farming regeneratively, and making nutrient dense food. They offer delicious milk, halloumi, fudge and yoghurt each week in the hub.

Einion’s Garden - Ann and John run their oasis of a market garden near Furnace, producing high quality salads and vegetables and fruit.

Enfys Veg - a new market garden based in Talybont. Look out for their delicious and diverse squashes and garlics.

Madarch Tŷ Cynan Mushrooms -

Lion’s Mane, Wood Oyster, and other gourmet mushrooms are grown locally by Madarch Tŷ Cynan Myshrooms, in a growing unit right in the heart of Penparcau.

Their aim is simple and thoughtful: to support Wales’ food and drink sector while creating benefits that reach beyond the plate.

Carefully grown, very local, and full of flavour — these are mushrooms with a story behind them.

Meat

Pori Bach - Pori Bach beef is something genuinely special. The cattle are raised entirely on pasture and play an important role beyond food production — they help care for the land.

As part of conservation grazing, the cattle graze on nature reserves, including RSPB Ynys-hir, helping to maintain diverse habitats and support wildlife. It’s a way of farming that works with nature, producing high-quality beef while also looking after some of our most valuable landscapes, supporting biodiversity, and keeping animals healthy and well.

Thank you for supporting the organic and local food movement.
