Our Mission
Our mission is to deliver empowering and creative community-led change to improve the food system and facilitate positive climate action.
We will do this by focusing on 5 mission areas:
-Casglu – community events space revitalising the High Street
-Dysgu – Community Kitchen, food skills programmes and workshops
-Lleol – local and seasonal weekly veg box scheme (Bwyd Dyfi Hub)
-Rhannu – Community Fridge and surplus food distribution
-Tyfu – community growing, composting, and gardening (Tyfu Aber Grow)
We are a pioneering not-for-profit social enterprise focused on having a positive impact on the food system, delivering meaningful community change and volunteer empowerment. The initiative started as a volunteer and community led surplus food redistribution project to reduce the environmental impact of waste. Now, alongside 30 brilliant volunteers, the Porthi Aber team delivers a HUGE range of different food system activities!
