YOU ARE INVITED

Fellow Teammates of Porthi Aber,

It has been an exciting year (or more) as we have embarked on this adventure together into our new space, explored our new name, and re-evaluated our vision and missions. We hope this new name, vision and missions will help us to continue to feel proud of our efforts. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for your ongoing support, and for building a brighter future and more resilient local food system. Please refresh yourself on the mission and vision overleaf, and on the updated website: www.porthiaber.co.uk

It is now time to celebrate! On Thursday 4th December we will launch the new space with an opening day, and it would be great to have your support in hosting the community and showcasing the project. There are a range of different ways for you to get involved and celebrate.

In the morning, we are looking for your help in hosting stakeholders, supporters and potential supporters of the project to come and learn more about what we do, and we will share the Porthi Aber vision, ambitions,  and explore the opportunities of our community space. We have an invite list who we would like to share the project with to continue to build a community support network for the project. The morning session will be fairly formal, we want to show off the space! There will be lunch, and we are asking attendees to book a ticket for the morning.

  • We would love your input on this morning session: Would you be able to speak with us? Do you have ideas of people to invite? Would you like to help us in hosting the lunch?

In the afternoon and into the evening, we are looking to get the celebrations going with our wider community. We are looking for volunteers and collaborators to help us share the word of the project, host cooking demonstrations, share food activities, and for there to be food, music and entertainment to enjoy! We have reached out to past and present collaborators of the project to help with this, and we will keep you updated as these details confirm. We have also got access to the old Post Office over the road…it is exciting to think that the celebrations could go into the evening with music and entertainment…! We need your help to plan and deliver this!

  • Would you like to welcome the public at the door, to help create a warm and welcoming reception to the space?  Or help with logistics, setting up, closing down or supporting collaborators in using our space? There are lots of volunteer opportunities, please see the variety overleaf.

At 6pm - Team Photo, Please join us at 6pm on launch day, Thursday 4th December for a team photo.

We would love you to be involved in hosting the celebration event, and making this a day to remember, a launch event that sets the tone for the future of the space!

Please let Heather or Laura know if you have any questions, or would like to chat through any of these roles and consider them? Please chat to us with ideas too. The next planning meeting will be

We look forward to celebrating the ‘official’ opening of the hub with you and our community!
